Masque Blackjack FAQ's

Why am I having trouble with this program on Windows XP?
Running older programs on Windows XP.

"Floating Point Error, Divide By Zero," is the error I get when I try to start the program.
Delete the file C:/WINDOWS/BJWIN.INI, then Restart Windows. After restarting Windows, the program should run normally. You can also solve this problem by downloading and installing our patch.

"Your program is making an invalid Dynamic link call to a DLL file," is the error I get when I try to start the program.
Usually this message occurs when you have more than one Masque product installed on your computer. Search for the file MPCARDS.DLL in C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEM. If you find that file, move it to the C:/MASQUE/BJWIN directory, or to wherever you have Masque Blackjack installed. Also try running ScanDisk.

How can I save my money from session to session?
First, pull down the Game menu and select Environment. In the Environment window, in the Save Settings on Exit group, select Auto. Click OK to return to the game. When you are finished with your session, pull down the Game menu and select Rules. Next to Credit, change the number to reflect your ending balance. Click OK, then close the game.

When I run the program, it immediately freezes my computer.
First run ScanDisk. The problem is typically an invalid sound configuration. Run MPLAYER, set Device to MidiSequencer, try to play canyon.mid. If it does not play, contact your computer or sound board manufacturer to get it set correctly. To turn off the sound in the game, edit the file C:/WINDOWS/BJWIN.INI. Under the [Environment] heading, change SoundType to read:

SoundType=4

I see a General Protection Fault in ANTSW2.DLL or ANTSW6.DLL.
First run ScanDisk. If you're running Windows 3.1x, try increasing your virtual memory.

The CD player isn't working.
The CD player is designed to play music CDs under Windows 3.1x. (Windows 95 has its own built-in CD player.) To make the CD Player work, you must load a Windows 3.1 driver. To load the driver:
  1. Go to the Main program group and double-click Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, double-click Drivers.
  3. In Drivers, click the Add button.
  4. In the Add window, highlight [MCI] CD Audio, then click OK.

I see an error message about accessing the hard drive in a manner that is incompatible with the Win32 bit access feature.
You need to disable 32-bit file access. The steps are:
  1. Go to the Main program group and double-click Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, double-click 386 Enhanced.
  3. In 386 Enhanced, click the Virtual Memory button.
  4. In the Virtual Memory window, click the Change button, then uncheck 32 bit access at the bottom of the window. If you see more than one 32-bit access checkbox, make them all empty. Then click OK.

I see error messages about Dunzip.
Dunzip requires Windows version 3.1. or higher.

The program or my system just acts strange.
Run ScanDisk.
