I see odd results in strategy selection on some of the machines.

We recently reviewed the strategies for all machines. A few of the strategies were incorrect when judging certain partial straight flushes.

If you play any of the following machines: JB-18, JB-21, JB-23, KB-02, DJ-01, or any Joker's Wild machine, then you may want to download a patch that fixes these minor problems. The strategies for all of the other games appear to be correct.

How can I print out the strategy tables so I can bring them with me to the casino?

The easiest way to have all the strategies from the game at your fingertips is to get the book that the game is based on, Winning Strategies for Video Poker. There is no way within the program to print out strategy tables.

If you just want a copy of a single strategy, you can use Windows to grab a screen shot and print it out as an image. Here's how to print a screen shot of a strategy table, or of any other Windows program:

1. Bring up the strategy table you want to print. Click on the title to make it the active window.
2. Hold down the Alt key and hit the PrintScreen key on your keyboard. This copies a picture of the window to the invisible Windows Clipboard.
3. From the Start button, go to Programs / Accessories / Paint, and click Paint.
4. In Paint, click the Edit menu, then chose Paste. This will paste the picture from the Clipboard to a new file.
5. In Paint, click the File menu, then chose Print.

Of course, for all that work, you might as well grab a pocket memo pad and write down the information from the strategy table. Or to have every strategy in a convenient package, you could get the book.

How do I install the Masque Video Poker Strategy Pro CD?

Instructions for XP systems:

1. Put the disk in the CD-ROM drive and shut it.
2. Click on start and then click on My Computer.
3. Right click the Vid Poker Pro icon.
4. Left click the word "Open."
5. Double left click the "Setup" file.
6. That should start the installation.

Instructions for all other Windows versions:

1. Put the disk in the CD-ROM drive and shut it.
2. Double click on the <My Computer> icon on your Desktop.
3. Right click the Vid Poker Pro icon.
4. Left click the word "Open."
5. Double left click the "Setup" file.
6. That should start the installation.

After I play for a while, the game freezes up.

When the game freezes to the extent that you can't <Alt>-<Tab> to another window, the cause is often an old or faulty driver. First run ScanDisk, then delete the game from your hard drive and reinstall from the CD. If you see the same problems, contact your video card manufacturer or computer manufacturer to download the latest video driver for your system. If you still see problems after installing the new video driver, contact your sound card manufacturer to download the latest sound driver for your system.

If I install all the optional files, do I still need to have the CD in the drive when I play?

Yes. The game uses other files from the CD and requires it to be present while playing.

The program or my system just acts strange.

Run ScanDisk. If you're running Windows 3.1x, also try increasing your virtual memory.
