What's New!

The latest title from Masque Publishing is IGT Slots and MultiPlay Video Poker. What we have done is update our original "Slots" title for 2003. The reels are now larger, you can zoom in and out on the machines and we have upgraded the interface. As a bonus, we have combined this update with MultiPlay Video Poker and copies of our Blackjack Tutorial and Spanish 21 Tutorial. It is a great value - 4 titles in one package!

Slots Misconceptions by Gayle Mitchell

Reprinted from All Slots Made Easier with permission.

Misconception #1
Someone hits a jackpot at the machine you were just playing; that could have been your jackpot! This is not true, because of that random number generator (RNG) in the slot machine. It's constantly in motion, picking different number combinations. Even when the machine is idle, the RNG is always moving, shuffling, faster than you can pull the handle or press that spin button. To win, you have to be in exactly the right place at exactly the right time.

Misconception #2
The casinos can flip a switch to make machines tight or loose. Nope. Only the slot manufacturer can make any changes to a slot machine.

Misconception #3
Hot coins mean the machine will win and cold coins mean a cold machine. The only reason a machine has hot coins is because of the lights near the hopper.

Misconception #4
If an attendant or mechanic opens your machine, it will stop paying. Usually, a machine is opened to correct a problem or to refill the hopper with coins. Sometimes a slot mechanic will give a player two or three free pulls, especially if the player is polite.

But if stopping for a mechanic makes you lose your rhythm, you have two choices: When the mechanic is done, play another three pulls deciding whether to stay or leave; or, leave as soon as your play is interrupted.

Misconception #5
Higher denomination slots have more payouts. All machines are preprogrammed with payout schedules. Higher denominations ($5+) probably have a higher hit frequency; but it's all relative when you pay in or invest more from your gambling bankroll. Start off with quarter machines which account for 25% of total slots revenue and are the most popular slots. Nickel machines do have fewer payouts because the maintenance costs are higher. They are played a lot and must receive more maintenance than other slots.

Soap Opera

The featured machine for this newsletter is "Soap Opera," a video bonus machine in Slots from Bally Gaming.

3 or more adjacent STORK symbols from left to right, starting with the left most reel, on an active payline triggers the Stork Mystery Pay bonus feature.

3 or more adjacent TELEVISION symbols from left to right, starting with the left most reel on an active payline awards the Soap Opera bonus feature.

FAQ's

Q: How can I add more names (other player names) to the Select Player list?
A: Click on the name and erase all of the characters (this will not delete the current player). Type in a new name and click the Play button. When you return to the Select Player screen, click on the small down arrow next to the name. You will see a list of all the players in the drop down menu. Select the name you wish to use and click the Play button.

Q: Will all Masque Publishing products run under Windows XP?
A: Yes, all products have been tested on Windows XP and will work. Even though some of our older packages do not list Windows XP in the system requirements, the software has been updated and will run fine.

Q: Why do I have a "Play Masque Games" icon on my desktop?
A: This icon is only for playing our games online. Right now these games include different varieties of poker and solitaire. You may delete the icon if you do not plan to play our online games.

Me and my family love your games, by far the best slots on the market... Keep up the great work of being the only company who puts out actual real slots and hope to see some new titles soon.
Rob, Bismarck, ND

Thanks for creating and selling the most fun video game that I have ever purchased. I recently purchased the Slots II video game from Costco. My husband and I are retired and have lots of time available to play the video games. I have purchased at least 5 slot variety games in the past but have found this one to be exceptional. I like the ability to choose extra payouts and the clever entertaining bonus games. I just purchased a 2nd video game called the Bally Gaming slots from your website. Thanks for the many hours of pleasure that we receive from playing these games. We are addicted!!!!
